If I Could Do It All Over Again

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said this over the years. Not so much out of regret, but out of the reality that we learn most things in life after the fact. For instance, you should never put brussel sprouts in with a roast just because cabbage tastes good and they both look relatively the same. I think our first apartment still smells from the experience. Have you ever walked into a place and said, “What’s that smell?” It may be someone years earlier thought throwing brussel sprouts in with the roast sounded like a good idea.



Why do I mention this? Because here we are at the beginning of starting a second church in Madison and I know how important it is to make good decisions right from the start. We’ve learned from experience that some of the decisions you make in year one or even from day one will still effect who you are as a church body 5 to 10 years down the road. I could make a list as long as Billy Gibbons beard (that’s what Internet searches are for), but I fear it would only bore you. Please be praying with us that we will make good long-term decisions in the coming days, months, and years as God has graced us with the opportunity to do this again. “There is a way that seems right to a man”, says the writer of Proverbs, and then there is God’s way. We desire the second.
