Some of you may know that Gene has been working on his music a lot lately. This time in Madison has been very good for that. You also may know that I've been invited into the world of "ghost writing" and am currently assisting on a book that is soon to be published for church planters. Sam and Spencer have also been cranking out songs and books. I guess you can say that theReynoldsFam has been playing a little game to see who could get published first...

We are thrilled to get to tell you that Gene is officially now a published songwriter. His song "Hold You" (a love song of the country genre) is now in the hands of a publisher - very exciting!
Now, we wait and just see what happens with it...who will sing it...where it will be heard. It's been a fun process.
It's ACLS week! That is what Juli will be doing - studying and then taking the two day class in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. It's a challenge that I'm a bit nervous about. But then I don't like to take basic CPR classes either and I've had to pass that test every year for the past 15. I have test anxiety. When I was in nursing school we had an instructor that every test she would walk from desk to desk with this pleasant, reassuring, hopeful smile on her face. As she passed by each one, she would place a small piece of paper on our desk that read, "My mind is active and alert and I will do well on this test." I've never forgotten that. Now, any time I face a challenge those words run through my head. Of course, Gene has never forgotten my telling him of that ritual and he is quick to recite those words any time test time rolls around....SO, My mind is active and alert and I'm going to do well on this test!
