aren't yo-yo's facinating?

The yo-yo is a truly ancient form of amusement with as many names as cultures which have assimilated it. Archaeologically, it is the second oldest toy known (after dolls). Yo-yos are a fascinating toy which I have never mastered. I have never discovered the patience it takes to make the thing come back up on the string over and over. Now that I mention it, I have never discovered the will to do so either.

We have choices about the yo-yo. There is no obligation to master the art, although some do. If we choose to leave our yo-yo all tangled up and not play anymore, no big deal. Our choice about the ups and downs of life hold higher stakes. For followers of Jesus, eternity and Life in the Kingdom are at stake. Since yesterday it seems that with every conversation I have it's up...down...up...down. Today at 11a.m. I wanted to throw the yo-yo in the toy box and never pick it up again. I am so glad that I can ask Jesus to untangle the string when it gets tangled, threatening the joy of the game. I am glad that I have the Holy Spirit to point out to me that although the game gets tricky some times, the downs are just part of the deal. Stay with it, up...down..up...down...

Please keep praying.

Would you pray for the Helmuth family? for the health of their youngest son James and that God would give them ears to hear His invitation to carry their burdens. - thanks.
